I wanted a dentist that was affordable and of good quality. You only have one set of teeth and I didn’t want them negatively affected. This is a great benefit and there are generally no hassells associated with these plans. When looking for a new provider, I found myself going through the yellow pages looking for someone near my house that I could start visiting. Comparing the various dental plans in my area was really easy when I could look at them side to side and really see the differences in pricing for different procedures. Studies show that you should go to the dentist for an oral exam, cleaning, and bitewing x-ray every 6-months, although it may no be necessary to get x-rayed more than once per year. These discount plans are great because they provide savings on everything from Braces, Gum surgery, Endodontics, and child dentistry. I tried to get a traditional individual dental insurance and I was running up against brick walls with the sign-up process and I was told I’d likely have to wait a year to get the plan activated. My kids are looking forward to having straight teeth. The provider list was very comprehensive in my area and there were providers within 3 miles of my house and work. If seems that if you do not have a traditional insurance plan through your employer or work, you just simple do not have any type of coverage and you are stuck paying full price. |
